More skate shops and indie brands are outsourcing deck graphics to an OEM manufacturer: we print your designs as real wear heat transfers, you press them onto decks and sell them under your own brand. No print factory required. Here’s how it works — and why going factory-direct makes the numbers work.
What OEM / Private Label Means for Deck Graphics
OEM simply means we manufacture the graphics to your design, and you brand and sell the finished result as your own. With private label, the finished decks carry your logo, your artwork, and your packaging — nothing points back to the factory. Your customers see your brand; we stay behind the scenes. New to the format? Our custom skateboard heat transfers guide explains how real wear heat transfers work.
How the Process Works
1. Artwork submission. Send 300dpi PNG or PDF files at actual size. Every file is reviewed before production, so problems get caught early rather than on the press.
2. Proofing. We check resolution, size, color mode, and placement, and confirm the proof with you before printing. Most quality issues are prevented here — a correction at proof stage costs nothing; a misprint costs a full run.
3. Production. Your transfers are printed and produced in our factory in Fuzhou, China. Standard turnaround is 5–7 days, and a 48-hour rush is available when you need stock fast.
4. QC and unbranded shipping. Every batch is quality-checked, then shipped worldwide in unbranded packaging — no factory branding, nothing that reveals your supplier. Your graphics arrive ready to press and sell.
Minimums and Scaling
OEM doesn’t require massive volumes. The skateboard minimum is just 20 sheets — standard 9″x33″ gloss starts from $3.80 per sheet, dropping to about $1.75 in bulk. Fingerboard minimum is 10 gang sheets at $7.50 per gang sheet, 32 graphics each.
That low entry point matters for brands testing a new graphic or launching a first series. Sell through your small run, then reorder with artwork already on file — reorders skip proofing and go straight into production. Full pricing details are in our custom skateboard heat transfer pricing guide.
Your Designs Stay Yours
Your artwork files are kept confidential and never shared. We don’t reuse your designs or sell them to others. Your brand owns the graphics end to end.
Who Uses OEM for Deck Graphics
- Skate shops launching their own house-brand decks without investing in printing equipment.
- Indie and startup brands getting their first series to market with professional-quality graphics.
- Established brands adding limited runs, collabs, or seasonal graphics without tying up their own production.
- Distributors supplying multiple shops with consistent, repeatable runs.
- Fingerboard brands using gang sheets for economical large runs — our custom fingerboard gang sheet builder makes speccing a run easy.
Whether you press decks yourself or use a local press shop, OEM graphics give you full control of your brand identity while manufacturing stays with the people who do it all day.
Why Factory-Direct Beats Middlemen
Every layer between you and the factory adds cost and slows communication. Factory-direct means talking straight to the people printing your graphics: faster answers on artwork questions, quicker turnaround decisions, and pricing that reflects actual production cost instead of stacked markups.
It also means flexibility. Special finishes — glow-in-the-dark, gold, silver, holographic/laser, embossed, and matte — make your graphics stand out on the wall. And when a rush order or proof question comes up, there’s no broker relaying messages; you get a direct answer from the factory floor.
FAQ
Do I need to own a heat press to use OEM graphics?
No. Many brands press in-house, but you can also have a local shop press your transfers onto decks. Our heat press guide covers the basics.
Can I do a small test run first?
Yes. With a 20-sheet minimum for skateboard graphics (10 gang sheets for fingerboard), you can run a small batch, check quality and sell-through, then scale up with reorders.
Will my supplier’s branding appear on my products?
No. Orders ship in unbranded packaging, and transfers carry only your artwork. Your brand is the only one your customers see.
How do I get started?
Send your artwork files (300dpi PNG or PDF at actual size) and your quantities. We’ll confirm the proof, give you a firm quote and timeline, and get your graphics into production.
